Statement

"These
works were captured over a five-year period from 1998-2003. I am a self-taught
photographer, and don't produce or enhance my work digitally, Solely working
in traditional methods and techniques using a fully manual Olympus OM1.
Photography, is a way of extracting and preserving visually appealing
and attractive memories from the animation that we encounter daily. Rarely
portraying political themes or personal beliefs, I just try to capture
the personality of my subjects (models and objects), and the surrounding
atmosphere that they are in, be it comfortable or a more uneasy shadowy
compositions. Giving the same treatment to my scapes whether it is land,
sea or the metropolis, be it in the light of day or night. Photography
has many advantages: the solitude, the fantastic illuminating objects
and the deep darkness contrasting with the light that can be used to throw
details into blackness.
My influence for colour photography comes from another discipline, painting.
From this and with the use of abstract composition in some and strong
colour saturation in others I try to project an array of expressions that
stem from nature and the surreal world. "
